Can either (or both) clavamox and chlorpheniramine be crushed and mixed with food? i'm going to the vet tomorrow morning to get him some food and can ask there, but was wondering if anyone happened to know. Hi all! so i finally had my appointment with my vet dermatologist, and my kitty has mild allergies so the first thing we are doing is douxo micellar solution 1x every 7 days and chlorpheniramine maleate in lipoderm once daily. i know every cat is different. i was wondering if anyone has used.

One of our cats takes chlorpheniramine, too, though in a transdermal cream. she gets a small dose twice a day. it doesn't seem to make her sleepy, though it does seem to act as a very mild sedative, in a positive way: she's a nervous cat who has asthma plus allergies and the antihistamine seems to calm her a bit. I recently found a new vet, she gave my baby revolution, topical antibiotics n told me to give her chlorpheniramine. i'm nervous about giving it to her bc we still do not know what she is actually allergic to. the vet said she "thinks" it's a food allergy. but when this first happened i changed. About a week ago my 13 year old cat, missy, started sneezing and snorting. i took her into the vet and he said she had an allergy to something. i think it might be the cat grass i bought her a couple of weeks ago. he gave me chlorpheniramine tablets to give her, which is an antihistamine. i gave. 3rd visit: blood work ruled out leukemia/aids virus. changed medication to orbifloxacin .7cc once daily and 1/4 tablet of chlorpheniramine for sneezing. gave him his 1st dose today and he seems to be very lethargic and has stated sneezing like crazy. he does eat and drink water but his energy level is zero. this medication is to be taken for 28.

Also try warming his stinky food. and by stinky, i mean a wet fish cat food. that might help him smell it through his stuffy nose. keep up with the steamy room. some people actually use a baby nose suctioner thingy (sorry, don't know the name of it) to gently suck out some of the gunk in their cats' noses. Most vets recommend chlorpheniramine, but that can cause foaming of the mouth because it's so bitter. i've used both claritin (1/4 to 1/2 of a 10mg tablet) and zyrtec on my kitties. Sybil was on chlorpheniramine for a while. but last time she or someone else needed one i think they said to give her benadryl instead which surprised me because a dvm once told me chlorpheniramine was the only one they could tolerate. We started him on chlorpheniramine pills for the allergies. he has been on them for two weeks. vet wants him to go another 2 weeks, still hoping it is seasonal and we can get past it. if he still has symptoms after 2 weeks we will do allergy testing to try and figure out the cause. he has ups and downs on the pills.
