Just came across this thread on googling alex o'connor. i was going to say don't beat yourself up on this, you come across as bright enough, philosophy is hard and you're only 14 so not evem mid way through secondary education. I was listening to alex o'connor's recent podcast with peter hitchens and honestly, i felt terrible throughout. first, it was obvious to me that alex did nothing wrong. and secondly, it really felt like hitchens was having a mental breakdown of sorts (perhaps suffering with some sort of mild dementia?). Alex is a philosopher, not a politician or a historian. a lot of the problems modern society has with social media in general is non experts loudly professing ill conceived ideas about which they have little knowledge. to my knowledge alex has not mentioned the israel palestine conflict in public, and in my opinion he should keep it that way. To be fair, alex had the opportunity to fix this when he told peter they could talk about other subjects, and peter asked "what happens to this drivel?", and alex didn't immediately say "we can edit it out". he did mention at the start he in general would edit out parts that the other person isn't happy with, but from what happened, it seems like alex wanted the clickbait title on.
