加加減減 Linear transformations and their matrices in older linear algebra courses, linear transformations were introduced before matrices. this geometric approach to linear algebra initially avoids the need for coordinates. but eventually there must be coordinates and matrices when the need for computation arises. We have seen the basic physical consequences of the two postulates of special relativity and we know how to derive them from the mathematical transformation relating two inertial frames, the lorentz transformation. the mathematics gives us an insight into how space and time are inextricably mixed and the most natural way to see this is in a representation of the world with four dimensions.
