Anaconda is a full distribution of the central software in the pydata ecosystem, and includes python itself along with the binaries for several hundred third party open source projects. miniconda is essentially an installer for an empty conda environment, containing only conda, its dependencies, and python. source. However, after installation, i am unsure how to access the anaconda command prompt so that i can use conda to install packages. i also attempted to install anaconda 64 bit in c:/program files, but several of the python script did not like the space and it failed to install. what can i do to access the anaconda prompt?.

Trying to launch jupyter notebook from terminal. i am currently on my terminal in the correct folder, and i have python 3.5 installed along with conda. but it is not launching. I too was desperate on this.but being on a limited data plan, i couldn't reattempt another download of the previous version of anaconda as suggested in the above answer. so instead i waited and in 9 minutes exactly, the status changed from setting up the package cache to setting up the base environment. i would suggest wait a little more and hopefully, the installation would finish!. For anaconda, the cacert.pem needs to be edited, the corporate ssl certificate needs to be added. cacert.pem can be found in two different locations inside the anaconda directory. I installed python anaconda on mac (os mavericks). i wanted to revert to the default version of python on my mac. what's the best way to do this? should i delete the ~/anaconda directory? any other.
