I did some digging and kind of think the pool was installed around 1992 1993, so i'm thinking it's possible the liner may have been replaced once (how could it last 20 years?) although there are several patches on the bottom of the pool and on the sidewalls, placed by previous owners. at least we got to enjoy this season of the pool. I came home today to find that they'd laid what appears to be a normal rubber garden hose instead of a typical 3/4 or 1 inch pvc pipe like i expected down in the trench. my pb is saying that "goodyear rubber" is okay for direct burial and that its preferred to pvc for long runs because its less likely to break. i understand the flexibility may help and all, but it just seems to go against. The pump is on the way out, and the stingl box is terrible so the guy at the pool place recommended a pentair superflo (model 41011/ 342001) and said i since i was getting rid of the stingl i need a vac alert vac alert 15130 vac alert when i get rid of the stingl box and replace the pump, is this vac alert necessary? wouldn't the pump have some sort of safety device on it? the stingl just cuts. My in floor cleaning system is one of the earlier ones (built in 1993), so i would expect these have gotten better since that time and might avoid some of the issues i see with my data.
