Ifoam eu’s president jan plagge states that: “agroecology should be the new horizon of the eu farming policy and of the upcoming farm to fork strategy”. ifoam euwelcomes that the commission is developing a systemic ‘farm to fork’ strategy on sustainable food along the whole supply chain. Agricultural research organisations (aros) are being urgently called to provide solutions for agri food system transformation. however, contrasting visions of how transformation should be achieved create difficult choices for aros. this paper reviews existing transformation narratives to build four scenarios of future aros: 1.
