Following a triumphant return from the confederation of african athletics (caa) u18 20 championships in abeokuta nigeria, team uganda has been well received by the national council sports in lugogo this afternoon.

Athleticsafrica Amplifying The Voices Of African Athletes National council of sports (ncs), on tuesday afternoon, received the athletics team that took part in the recently concluded africa youth championship in abidjan, ivory coast. the team was received at lugogo by ncs’ bernard ogwel and head of technical committee andrew soroweni with members of the fourth estate available. Team uganda safely landed at entebbe international airport monday evening to a warm welcome from officials and supporters after a stellar performance at the caa africa u18 u20 athletics championships held in nigeria from july 16–20. With dreams of gold and national pride in their hearts, uganda’s junior athletics team has been flagged off for the 4th confederation of african athletics (caa) u18 and u20 championships, set for july 16 in abeokuta, nigeria. Uganda secured four gold, one silver, and four bronze medals in a show of rising dominance in youth athletics—a performance that officials from the uganda athletics federation (uaf) have described as a testament to the country’s growing strength in the sport.

Team uganda is set to play gallantly at the first ever edition of the anoca school games due in the algerian cities of annaba, constantine, setif and skikda. It is a voluntary, non profiting making body with the mandate of developing and promoting athletics in uganda in line with the iaaf statutes. the first inaugural athletics competition was organized on 3 august 1925, four months after the meeting at imperial hotel and was attended by nine clubs. A 26 member ugandan team has been flagged off to compete at the 4th confederation of african athletics (caa) under 18 and under 20 championships, which kick off on july 16 in abeokuta, nigeria. Team uganda was flagged off at an cooper chimney lugogo, on monday, 21st july by dr. bernard patrick ogwel who was chief guest. the flag off ceremony was attended by athletes, coaches, officials and parents.
