An Open Letter To My Autoimmune Disease I kept shaking my trembling little fist at god because i couldn't imagine why my body was so broken. thankfully, i realized that god is my rock and he was the one i refused to lose because of you. Autoimmune diseases, you did bring me down and hurt me for a little bit. but you know the saying "what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger" you didn't kill me and you never will you're making me stronger than i've ever been before.

An Open Letter To My Autoimmune Disease In 2013, i consulted my dermatologist, and he sent me to a rheumatologist, who, based on my symptoms, confirmed raynaud’s and ordered tests to see if i had other autoimmune diseases that might be causing raynaud’s. I write this so that maybe people can begin to understand what it’s like to live with an autoimmune disease and, rather than pity us, be understanding when we have embarrassing flare ups or we can’t do too much because we are in constant pain. I am writing this letter on behalf of people who have no idea what is wrong with them, for people who are ignored by their doctors, friends and family. i am writing for me and for the fifty million autoimmune sufferers in america, and for the sixty percent that suffer but remain undiagnosed.
