I don't wear earplugs when i ride but i've tried many for live music and i recommend musician's earplugs from etymotic research ( and ) or hearos (). these allow clear hearing at all frequencies, just about half as loud. if you prefer the traditional foam plugs, i prefer hearos (). foam earplugs reduce more noise overall, especially at speech frequencies and higher pitches.
