Cj5 Resto Mod Project Page 18 Expedition Portal We picked up a 1974 cj5 a couple years ago and didn't really know what to do with it. the decision was made to keep it mostly stock with some minor upgrades like power steering and power disc brakes. here are some teaser pics. i would like to see a build. i have a heavily modified cj5 built for moderate to difficult trails. My plan is to build the 74 with the known good 360, cannibalizing whatever parts i need from the '73, and trade the leftover parts to another guy for all of the frame work and assembly. additional parts that i bought to complete this project are • complete rough country 2.5" lift suspension kit. leaf springs, shocks, boots, the whole shebang.

Cj5 Resto Mod Project Page 4 Expedition Portal 1976 jeep cj5 resto mod | great lakes 4x4. the largest offroad forum in the midwest. posted up a couple pics in the introduction section, here's some more. project started as the classic $500 jeep i towed home in december 1996: i scrapped the body, and picked up a 'new' oem steel tub from willys overland in toledo. 1960 cj5 f134 came with metal half cab and snow plow. i bought this cj5 1960 willys jeep july 2012 for my 13 year old twins and i to restore. i have been searching the internet for pictures of the dash mounted clock but cannot find any. any clues or information would be appreciated. more pictures to follow. Lately i have been working on a jeepster commando resto mod project for a client in florida. ironically, he was bidding on the buttercream cj5 and ultimately bowed out. so now we're building him an ls3 powered, tr4050 shifted, d44 d60 propelled 1970 jeepster. Turns out, the steering column i built for the jeep is from an early bronco (or other ford truck). now i need to find a ford steering wheel that looks like a jeep steering wheel. suggestions?.

A very rare perkins diesel powered 5 was available in the early sixties and the cj 5a tuxedo park is also rare, both of these models deserve a good restoration if you find one and it's possible to restore it. the late kaiser jeep cj 5 with the buick odd fire v 6 is also a decent little jeep in stock form. This 1974 cj 5 was acquired by the seller eight years ago and has since been repainted and refurbished by his company, stoffregen motorsports. finished in buttercream paint over black vinyl seats, this jeep is powered by a 232ci inline six mated to a three speed t 14 manual transmission and dual range transfer case. I bought a 1974 cj5 and had grand plans of tearing it down and building it back up to include new wiring harness and new fiberglass body. after taking it down to a rolling chasis, i was told to pressure wash everything to make sure there were no hidden "treasures" like unrepairable rust on the frame. There are only a small handful of items on this cj5 that remain in their factory finish, and the headlight buckets and trim rings are among them. they were in good enough shape to give a good cleaning and install. after the headlights were installed, i needed beer, so the jeep got it's first trip into town.
