Concept Mapping Is A General Method That Can Be Used To Help Any ... Concept Mapping Concept and argument mapping are cognitive tools that cultivate transferable skills in reasoning, communication, and information literacy. by helping students make their thinking visible, these strategies encourage deeper engagement and critical reflection. A good general resource in applied social research and evaluation, the site includes numerous concept mapping papers and projects, primarily emphasizing the more scholarly basis of concept mapping and its application in basic research, public and not for profit contexts. This chapter offers a guide for conducting the methodology, detailing the six key steps in group concept mapping: planning, generation, structuring, analysis, interpretation, and utilization. We detail the group concept mapping process as a tool for use in primary care practice improvement, research, and evaluation, and we present resources to enable researchers and practice leaders to use this tool in practice improvement. Three databases (medline, cinahl, and psycinfo) were searched to identify studies that used concept mapping methodology. we included 75 concept mapping studies published since 2019 from which we extracted information about the quality of reporting. a third of the studies focused on public health. The current article argues that concept mapping, a structured mixed methods approach, is useful in the initial development of a rigorous cbpr program of research aiming to develop culturally tailored and community based health interventions for vulnerable populations.
