Erens Eyes Throughout The Series Eren Jaeger, Eren X Mikasa, Attack On ... This writeup will cover all of my thoughts, interpretations, and explanations of attack on titan’s ending. primarily about eren, armin, mikasa, ymir, the final scene, and general themes in the story. this is very long so i provided headings for my key points and a tl;dr at the end. i highly implore you to read the whole thing though. I wanted to share my perspective on eren’s motives and why i believe the ending of the series is the way it is. unfortunately, this is going to be a rather long retrospective, with a word count in the thousands, so i hope you will be patient and keep an open mind. i’ve approached this from a psychological perspective, as that's what i've studied. i use some psychology terms i am familiar.

Eren’s genocidal rumbling was ultimately the most surefire way to keep paradis safe for as long as possible, while simultaneously creating a scenario where his friends would have the chance to no longer be viewed as devils by the rest of humanity and instead be considered heroes. If eren lived in a time of peace, he would have been a slightly wierd, but otherwise normal, good natured person. it's important to remember that eren's actions came from his own humanity. the same humanity that leads itself into conflict, and destroys civilizations. i'm really glad that my first time experiencing the ending was via the anime.
