SSF Guidelines: Value Chains, Post-harvest And Trade | SSF Hub We've done two ewe hunts there and purposefully waited until mid october on both to hunt. no other hunters seen, cooler weather and nicer hair, plus every bunch had rams with them getting ready for the rut. you can fill your tag in a day if you choose not to be picky. view attachment 375453 view attachment 375454 that's great to hear. Hunting bighorn rams is not going to happen in my lifetime, barring some miracle. but i was eyeballing the license prices and noticed that ewe/lamb tags for a nonres are $240. does anyone know what the odds are of drawing such a tag? i can't find it on the g&f website only type 1 licenses.

SSF Guidelines – Value Chains, Post-harvest And Trade Hey yall! happy to have drawn another wyoming tag! have previously drawn bison and goat up there! this year was lucky enough to draw a ewe bhs tag (17 7). if anyone has hunt 17 and would be willing to give some general info, then that'd be awesome. appreciate it!. I know i'm getting ahead of myself but i have a question for those few of you who have taken a desert sheep. is the meat good to eat? does it taste like mutton? i do like lamb chops but those come from fairly young lambs. I am 23 years old and would like to do a sheep hunt at least once in my life. i was wonder which state would be best to start gaining points in? i was thinking colorado but any info would be greatly appreciated. Hey guys, my girlfriend drew a ewe tag in district 301. we have hunted the breaks before for ewes with success but these mountain sheep seem to have different behavior and live in some pretty gnarly terrain. we have hiked roughly 40 miles so far scouting with only a couple sheep sightings in.

Hunting in montana requires understanding the application process, deadlines, and point systems in order to draw a tag. Who's feelin lucky? i messaged a few ht members in feb/mar throwing around the idea of a ewe tag being i only have a few points. ultimately i decided to hold out and gamble til the end of time. excited to see if any of you guys draw!. Shot a ram, ewe, and lamb on 1/22/23. i took care of all the meat immediately and had it on ice within 1 2 hours. there's definitely a difference in meat quality the lamb is great the ewe is fine but i can tell it's not the deer or elk in my freezer the ram is stronger but not terrible but really tough. They don't issue ewe tags when the herd counts don't exceed capacity. if you don't want to hunt ewes, that is your choice, don't apply. leave the biology decisions up to the professionals, however. and we’re talking about the same professionals that allowed ewe hunting in a unit that just had to be closed, correct?.
