Therefore, families that are hosted to a face are necessary. any of these element specific families can be converted to face based with the following procedure: 1. create a new project and draw a wall, floor, or ceiling which ever element is an appropriate host. 2. load in the desired family and place one instance of each type on the host.

I got used that in blender i can select one face of the object or one vertex or three edges and invert selection by hitting cntrl i which will select all vertices that were unselected and deselect those were selected so basically will invert the selection but is there such option in maya?. I have a face hosted family instance, if i delete the host parent element, the face based family instance got <not associated>, am trying to rehost to new host element face reference, is there any api to do that in revit, and i am using to create face family instance by doc.create.newfamilyinstance(. 2. there’s currently no way to create a face/surface like this based only from points. i’m guessing what you’re after is a 4 sided face which has straight edges connecting those 4 vertices? the easiest way to do this is probably to build some sketch lines connecting those points, then build a patch or loft surface based on those lines.

Hi i am trying to perform a simple finish turning profile on my part but fusion360 does not like it i guess . maybe i am doing something wrong. can some one have a look and explain to me what my mistake is? this is the profile i am trying to cut: fusion360 file included! thanks in advance. Select the elements from the face based families (geometry, reference planes, parametric dimensions), crtl c, and ctrl v align to view on the non host family. re constrain and add whatever is missing. The face was created from a patch workspace extrude, then i add the fillets on either side. costa leftarm frame v13.f3d reply reply 0 likes like report link copied 9 davebyypcu consultant in reply to markandcandyingle 03 10 201707:28 pm i am away from fusion the rest of the day, so will check again tomorrow, (sat afternoon now), sorry about that.
