Jyp said on a show with stray kids that the reason the company was willing to experiment and debut a group with so much creative freedom is that, in his opinion, in this era of kpop people can easily tell apart inauthenticity from authenticity thanks to social media, so the group they debut might as well be actually authentic. Jyp and sm have a rather intense training schedule too but they're more compatible with studying than under yg (kinda encouraging them to drop out of school). jyp has a very thorough dance training and you need to clear a certain level if you want to debut.
