Lung cancer is still the leading cause of cancer related death in canada. about 1 in 14 canadians will be diagnosed with lung cancer at some point in our lives. while the statistics are sobering, lung cancer awareness month is about so much more than statistics. At lung saskatchewan, we work hard every day to deliver our mission to improve lung health one breath at a time. our commitment to improving lung health in saskatchewan began in 1911 during the battle to manage the tuberculosis epidemic that swept across the province and canada. The lung foundation of saskatchewan was created in 2002 with the specific purpose of ensuring long term sustainability for lung health activities in saskatchewan.
