In my experience all i can see is what you do on brightspace itself. how long you’re on specific materials, what course materials you open etc. it seems to be just local to our course site. i haven’t explored fully though because i don’t really care what my students are doing in other tabs etc. I have significant experience using and supporting d2l (often branded as brightspace) as both an adjunct instructor and as an instructional designer. i also have a fair bit of experience with canvas, a small bit of experience with moodle, but only a passing familiarity with blackboard, other than hearing that most instructors dislike it.

What do you wish you knew about brightspace? our school is changing to brightspace for the spring semester. there will be no training for faculty, but we’re encouraged to use the winter break to figure it out. with that in mind, i’ve seen threads from experienced users here over the years. any useful, actionable advice for complete beginners?. I've got five years of experience working with d2l/brightspace, and two years of experience with canvas. i would say that overall canvas is more user friendly, but it sacrifices some amount of flexibility and customization because of that friendliness. Brightspace sucks i’ve taught on different platforms and by far canvas has been the most user friendly. i haven’t used blackboard in a long time so i don’t know if it got better. but i’ve recently had to work on brightspace for this new school i teach at and it is just so annoying. there is little intuitive functionality and navigation. In brightspace, select your class, then click your profile icon on the top right corner. select “progress” and then under discussions choose “posts authored”. it will show you every discussion post and reply you’ve written for that class.

Timed no, once you start you have a hour regardless if you're on the page or not. i have had my computer crash during a test and it counted down the 3 minutes it took me to get my quiz back up. now if its unlimited timed quiz then yes you can exit and return to it later. Opinions on brightspace platform? is it more similar to canvas or blackboard? is it user friendly from the instructor side or a hassle to set up and utilize? we might be switching so just trying to analyze the situation!.
