I'm 52 and started to rebuild my cd collection last year. for me, it was the fact they were so cheap on ebay, thrift stores, and even new ones on bandcamp weren't terribly expensive. There's a certain irony to it that i'm paying more, but there's an emotional satisfaction to buying an album and keeping it forever. i started doing a lot more driving. listening to an album on the car is a great way to pass the time, and also just a great way to experience the music. Last year at the thrift store, i spotted tony bennett’s mtv unplugged album on cd and i immediately knew, i was going to spend that dollar for that cd. holy shit i’m glad i did. it finally clicked in my head. i sold my vinyl collection and got a pretty nice sum for it.

I'm now almost 40 and started collecting again a month ago. i'm at about 250 cds already, re buying mostly stuff that i used to have. start collecting again. the reason i did it was because i noticed that i kept forgetting about music that i love. Spent some time last weekend rearranging, organizing, and cataloging my cd collection, and am up to a little over 225 of them. most are thrift store finds. i've put myself on a mission now to listen to every cd i own, from chimpan a to chimpan z, and have gotten up to blues traveler. I’m new to cd collecting and i was looking for some advice. what are some things you would tell yourself when you started to collect cds if you could go back in time?.
