The side event will highlight commitments made to the water action agenda by countries and stakeholders, including basin organizations, aiming to improve transboundary water cooperation. A panel session and interactive discussion with participants highlighted issues including integrated monitoring of sdg 6; the role of civil society in bringing evidence into policy and practice; water accessibility challenges in east africa; and reducing water inequalities. Side events are organized in connection with the un 2023 water conference, either in person or virtually, by member states, the un system, intergovernmental organizations and accredited.
