Solved Use The Functions Given Below To Answer The Following Chegg I finally got it to update after using your advice and a 2 gig usb. for whatever reason the ps4 wont update using a usb with greater than 4kb block size. go figure. thank you for your help!. 1) step one, it does get to 100% full system initialization. 2) then proceeds to do a system file update which succeeds (safe mode window) 3) then it displays ps4 graphics screen and does a second system file update and succeeds 4) then it reboots and does a system storage install which actually takes a bit of time to complete.

So i couldnt do anything but reinitialize my ps4 and lose all my data. what a waste playstation 4. One is a firmware update and the other is the full firmware package, both are called ps4update.pup. you need the full firmware file which is a much larger file than the update, around 2gb i think. beware though as this firmware performs a full reset of the ps4 which means it will wipe everything off the hard drive. was this answer helpful?.
