Soulcalibur Had A Character So Awful The Series Needed A Reboot

Soulcalibur Had A Character So Awful The Series Needed A Reboot Soulcalibur 5 was supposed to be a new step forward for the series, but instead, it introduced a protagonist that was so bad, it led to a series reboot. most of the time, bad characters in fighting games can simply be dropped in a following installment. I don't think we need another reboot—sf6 wasn't a reboot, but all of its new features and the effort poured into it reinvigorated the fgc. and all those things listed kinda already happen with most entries in the series.

Soulcalibur Had A Character So Awful The Series Needed A Reboot Did the crap story, crap new characters, and crap limited content screw the continuity too much or is there just no demand? the loss of sophitia (fighting games greatest milf) was especially. Soulcalibur's story feels screwed up. plus the characters are complex. if bandai namco did a reboot, they need to start sc going from the past and in the near future. our time, where some warriors had become immortal as sc & se had been found excavated. So, sc6 is my first soul calibur game. i’ve been enjoying the story, but i noticed something that perplexed me. i had heard that sc6 was a reboot…. Those special characters were representative npcs from those modes, one for each custom style, so that you could play those movesets in multiplayer without having to create a new character each time.

Honestly, yes reboot is a very good idea. the old story was pretty much written into a corner, and badly so. and new characters weren't all that good, most of them being clones of the old ones. better to reboot it now, than letting it go to the stage of soul calibur: armageddon. Scv's bad rep is mostly because there was little single player content when compared to the previous titles, and it was clear a lot of stuff, including characters and styles, was cut because of development disasters. Tekken 3 had a robust roster of characters, a wide variety of modes, a deep story mode, and plenty of secrets and unlockables, while soulcalibur v had a much smaller roster of characters, a much more limited selection of single player modes, and lacked any real secrets or unlockables. I know what killed it for me a player since the original soul calibur on dreamcast. i disliked the increase in visual hit effects in every release starting with soul calibur iv.
