Teasing Bullying Meadowbrook School Counseling During our second lesson we watched a clip of a bully from the movie like mike (2002) and reviewed the definition of bullying and the different types of bullying. we also read the book bully beans to learn about some of the things we can do to appropriately respond to a bully. Today we defined bullying and talked again about the difference between conflict and bullying. conflict is normal and can be handled ourselves. bullying is never okay and needs adult intervention .

Teasing Bullying Meadowbrook School Counseling It’s essential to guide children in understanding the difference between teasing and bullying. here are some ways parents, school counselors, and teachers can help: encourage open communication: teach kids to talk about their experiences. whether they feel hurt or uncomfortable, talking to a close friend or an adult can help. teach empathy. School counselors are well positioned to address bullying at school by providing intervention strategies and support for students. however, all counselors can play an important role in addressing the problem. School counseling programs promote anti bullying, anti harassment and violence prevention programs, schoolwide positive behavior interventions and support, along with comprehensive conflict resolution programs to foster a positive school climate. Academic pressure: stress from school, homework, and exams can lead to anxiety and academic underperformance. peer relationships: issues related to bullying, peer pressure, and social isolation can impact self esteem and self confidence.
