Copy aseprite.exe and the data folder from 'c:\aseprite\build\bin' to somewhere a bit more accessible. (i chose 'c:\users\ name \documents\portable apps\aseprite', but this is totally up to you) if you want your settings to actually save, create a blank 'aseprite.ini' file in the same folder as the exe open aseprite.exe and enjoy!.

Aseprite has a feature called rotsprite that is supposed to produce some better results for pixel art, but you'll probably need to fix things manually afterwards, that's just how it is. Should i get aseprite on steam or from the official website? so, i am a windows user, and i would like to know where to buy aseprite. steam is currently cheaper, so i'm considering buying from there. if i buy from the official website, i get the mac and linux applications, which i do not need. I ended up making a small utility program designed to run along with aseprite that handles audio for you, playing it based on the frame number, so that you can make any audio based animations you want 🙂 i thought this would be a really useful tool for some people, so i thought i'd share it here, just in case anybody wanted to use it. Libresprite did not yet have all of the features of aseprite last time i checked and it's unlikely it gets developped as fast, although it wasn't far off. frankly if you really don't mind parting with some money i'd recommend spending the 20 bucks no matter the version you end up using because capello did quite a good job and both versions stem from his work, but do not feel pressured by me in.
