I am an absolute beginner and was planning on purchasing the tryhackme premium subscription (the annual one. it's 10.50 usd/month right now if i buy the whole year.) i'm a junior in high school, so i do not have a ton of time to dedicate to learning, but i think i could fit a good hour in every day! would you say it's a good resource to start learning from the ground up? my goal is to go to. TryHackMe Official Web Fundamentals Walkthrough - YouTube Has anyone started from the bottom on tryhackme and learned enough skills to get a job in the field? i have been on tryhackme for a while now and i'm starting to get comfortable and built real skills. so i'm just wondering what others have been able to do with skills learned on the site. Actually came here to post the same question. i'm planning on taking the oscp in either december or january, probably get 60 day lab time around october ish. but since quarantine, i've taken 3 full udemy classes (complete ethical hacking course by ermin kreponic, practical ethical hacking by heath adams, and jason dion's pentest course), and some random free rooms on tryhackme, and i've done. Tryhackme was good, but i had tons of it experience before hand so it was kind of basic (to me). hack the box on the other hand challenges me regularly and i can honestly said i've learned applicable things for it in general from hackthebox. i actually recommend htb to people just trying to up their it skillset in general. they have a good balance on instruction vs demonstration. just my. 135 votes, 43 comments. truefrom my experience letsdefend is the best one for soc, tryhackme is also very good and has a lot of great material but it's more offensive security oriented. if you really want soc than go with letsdefend in my opinion and don't overburden yourself with learning things you don't need or use, after you get the soc position try to focus on the platforms, services. Hi all, just completed the 'complete beginner' path, and looking for some easy rooms to gain some more practical experience . looking for any recommendations for good rooms to start out with in the areas of linux, privesc, networking, enumeration. thanks!. For the content, tryhackme has great value. you'll not find such a solid grasp of the basics for such a low price. beyond the basics, the rooms turn into ctf which are not based in reality. but, that's not a thm failing, that's just how ctf games are.
