Charlie palmer, group marketing manager for e4, said: “it was important that we maintained e4’s humour, irreverence and purpleness but with the new branding and eefer, we wanted to try something truly distinct and invite viewers to engage with us in a way no other channel does.”. Idents and main presentation on e4 tends to remain unbranded for special occasions, with presentation linked to significant programmes for the channel usually appearing on promos and break bumpers instead.

Replacing the films of blocks in random locations was a new set reminiscent of e4. a character made of the channel 4 blocks interacts with various scenes, complete with a remix of the original fourscore signature notes in the background. E4 continuity is not noted for taking itself too seriously at the best of times. but they do seem to have been having a bit more fun than usual with most of the links this evening. Given the e4 logo was an integral part of the old idents, new idents were inevitable for the station. the new branding switched over during the off air slide shortly before 6am. the first new ident featuring a spacestation shaped like the new e4 logo was aired into the 6am junction.
