Uup Celebrating Black History Month Creating A Culture Of Diversity Black history month is a time to celebrate achievements by african americans and a time for recognizing their central role in u.s. history, but it’s also an opportunity to understand the injustices black people around the world continue to face. diversity, equity, and inclusion (dei) is a high strategic priority for uup. On tuesday, feb. 22, uup will host “black history month: health, economic & environmental justice for healthy communities,” a panel discussion about how these issues disproportionately impact communities of color. panelists will talk about their efforts to achieve racial equity, the barriers they have overcome, and the new challenges they face.
